1. INTRODUCTION

The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to inform Users of the Pet Alert Platform about how their personal data is collected, used, stored and protected.
The Platform is operated by Uzino Sàrl, a company incorporated under Swiss law, with its registered office in Leytron, Switzerland (IDE CHE-236.397.546) (hereinafter Uzino, we, us, our).
Uzino undertakes to process personal data in accordance with applicable Swiss law, in particular the Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP).

2. DEFINITIONS

Personal data: any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.
Platform: all Pet Alert websites (regional and national), applications, services and associated tools.
User: any person accessing or using the Platform.

3. PERSONAL DATA COLLECTED

We only collect personal data that is necessary for the functioning of the Platform and the provision of our services, in particular:

  • identification data: surname, first name, username;
  • contact details: email address, telephone number;
  • account data: login details, password (encrypted);
  • Alert-related data: information about the animal, location, descriptions;
  • payment data (if applicable), processed by third-party payment providers;
  • technical data: IP address, language.

When the User participates in the Expert programme, certain location data may be collected in order to enable the receipt of nearby Missing Alerts.

4. PURPOSES OF PROCESSING

Personal data is collected and processed in particular for the following purposes:

  • enable the registration and management of User accounts;
  • ensure the functioning of the Platform's services;
  • disseminate and manage Missing Person Alerts and Discovery Alerts;
  • communicate with Users via internal messaging;
  • ensure the security of the Platform;
  • carry out anonymous statistical analyses aimed at improving services.

Personal data is never used for resale or external commercial prospecting purposes.

5. DATA TRANSFER

Users' personal data:

  • is not sold, rented or transferred to third parties;
  • is not made public without the User's consent.

However, it may be transmitted:

  • when required by law;
  • at the request of a competent judicial or administrative authority;
  • to technical service providers acting on behalf of the Platform (payment platform), strictly within the limits of their mission and subject to a confidentiality obligation.

6. HOSTING AND TRANSFER OF DATA

Personal data is mainly hosted on servers located in Switzerland.
In certain cases, data may be processed or stored abroad, including in countries that do not guarantee a level of protection equivalent to that provided by Swiss law.
In such situations, Uzino ensures that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect personal data.

7. RETENTION PERIOD

Personal data is retained:
– for as long as the User uses the Platform;
– then, after deregistration or inactivity, for a maximum period of 120 months, in particular in order to comply with the legal and accounting obligations applicable under Swiss law (Article 958f of the Swiss Code of Obligations);
Certain data may be retained for a longer period when required by law, in particular for accounting, tax or legal purposes.
Anonymised data may be retained indefinitely for statistical purposes.

8. COOKIES AND TRACKERS

The Platform uses cookies and similar technologies necessary for its proper functioning and to analyse its use.
The use of cookies, their management and configuration options are detailed in the Cookie Management Policy, which can be accessed from the Platform.

9. DATA SECURITY

Uzino implements appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, alteration or disclosure. Despite these measures, no system is completely secure and the Platform cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. USER RIGHTS

In accordance with Swiss law, Users have the following rights:

  • the right to access their personal data;
  • the right to rectify inaccurate data;
  • the right to have their data deleted, within the limits provided for by law.

Any request relating to personal data must be made via the Platform's internal messaging system, accompanied by proof of identity.

11. CHANGES TO THE PRIVACY POLICY

Uzino reserves the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time, in particular to comply with legal or technical developments.
The current version is the one published on the Platform.

12. LANGUAGE AND APPLICABLE LAW

In the event of any discrepancy between different language versions, the French version shall prevail.

It is governed by Swiss law.
The place of jurisdiction is Leytron (Switzerland).
